Product Specifications

Senecio barbertonicus, often referred to as the Barberton groundsel or succulent bush senecio, is a distinctive evergreen succulent shrub native to Southern Africa. Characterized by its upright growth, it can reach heights of 3 to 5 feet, presenting a bushy, robust form. Its most notable feature is its fleshy, cylindrical, finger-like leaves, which are a vibrant light green and densely packed along the stems, curving upwards. These leaves, typically 2 to 4 inches in length, contribute to the plant's unique texture and appearance.  In late fall and winter, Senecio barbertonicus produces clusters of fragrant, bright yellow flowers, adding a splash of color during a time when many other plants are dormant. This succulent thrives in well-drained, sandy soils and prefers full sun to light shade, exhibiting a high degree of drought tolerance. It is also known to attract pollinators such as the painted lady butterfly
